Crematory is a gothic metal/death metal band formed in Westhofen, Germany in 1991. They broke up in 2002 and reformed in 2004 to release the album Revolution, a largely progressive effort which brought the band into more accessible/techno-metal territory than ever before. Their sound has often been compared to early-Sentenced, Fear Factory, and Dark Tranquillity. There was also a Crematory from Sweden which formed in 1989, and released 4 demos and one EP, playing death metal in a style not unlike the oldschool Finnish bands. http://www.crematory.de/
